Guided Nature Sounds & Wildlife Voices Hike
This is a hike where you don’t experience nature only with your eyes — we listen to what the forest has to say. A nature guide helps you notice sounds that usually stay in the “background”: birdsong, the tone of the wind, the rhythm of footsteps, little crunches and rustles… and sometimes that famous crack that makes everyone whisper: “What was that?” (Spoiler: usually a twig. But not always.)
On the hike we’ll learn how to analyse and tell apart natural sounds, get to know the animals and birds living in Estonian nature and where they spend their time. We’ll practise imitating bird and animal calls and, if you wish, we’ll craft simple sound instruments from natural materials.
If you’d like, we can do the hike in the late evening or early morning — when nature is having its “sound check” and the birds give a concert with free admission.
What we do and learn
-
how to distinguish natural sounds (and not confuse a titmouse with your jacket zipper)
-
which animals and birds live here and where they “hang out”
-
how to imitate simple bird and animal calls (totally legal!)
-
how to make simple sound instruments from natural materials
-
how to move in nature so that nature listens to us — not the other way around
Who it’s for
Perfect for school groups, families, and work teams — anyone who wants to get to know nature and press “mute” on screens for a while.
